It's not too bad though.I have tried all the fixes i could find but for some reason.no audio will go into OBS.my audio works on audition and Audacity. It's rap with a few cuss words so if you have virgin ears you may not want to listen. I will attach a clip of something I recorded on the iMac internal mic. Does anybody know of a mic that can do so. Honestly I can not agree any more I really want to match the sound but gain CLEAR CRISP vocals as well. Someone did reply however saying, 'Believe it or not this built-in mic has some great advantages for a vocalist such as practically zero proximity effect and an open natural sound that's equal from all directions.' I was reading a post where someone in a similar position to mine on another forum but nobody was able to answer his question. I am curious if anyone know's what it is that the iMac mic has that it is giving me a sound that I like. I mean honestly I'd feel comfortable actually recording a mixtape on the iMac internal mic rather than the MXL is extremely muddy! Like I have a fairly distinct voice and this mic does not bring it out or even show it instead it makes it sound worse IMHO. Now correct me if i'm wrong but the MXL 2001 is a terrible mic.

(Because I wanted to do research before purchasing.which i'm still doing)īut now I am scared after reading multiple posts about you having to try out different mics and don't know how I am going to chose which mic I want to use because even places that let you try out their mics don't allow you to test what will come out with certain plug-ins. I was looking at Audio Technica 2035 or 4050's and a couple Blue Birds.However my friend offered me his MXL 2001 Mic to use in the meanwhile until I decided which mic I was going to get. I recently bought an M-Box 2 Mini and it came with Pro Tools 8 as i'm sure many of you already know. In no way shape or form am I going to attempt to say that the built in iMac is a good mic fore recording vocals but from personal experience it is able to capture a sound that I like but it OBVIOUSLY isn't clear nor a good mic and I am trying to get my new recording setup to capture the sound but a CLEAR CRISP version. Ok before we get all crazy please please hear me out.
